Memories
As the holidays near I'm being reminded of friends and things past, which always torques my emotions upward.
This past weekend we received a phone call on our land line, good thing we still have one, from a friend we haven't seen in 15 years and occasionally email. She and her husband relocated to Arizona in the 80s and he's not one for communicating via email and she's a computerphobe. They're visiting the week of Thanksgiving and want to get together.
Yesterday I received this liquid squeeze version of Sweet Tarts in the inter-office mail from a pal I've
known for 20 years. We once ate so many Sweet Tarts in one day that we chaffed our tongues and lips and ached for two days!!
This afternoon I received a phone call at work from my dear friend Stud Muffin who retired 4 years ago and have spoken to about five times since then. What's funny is all three contacts know each other and I just felt like the circle had been completed.
It was wonderful to hear Muffin's voice and talk politics and spirituality with him. He and his wife retired about the same time and have been traveling and taking it easy. Though they live locally, we never meet for lunch or dinner.
Maybe God's sending me hints?
