QotD: Reach Out
Is there a friend who you owe a phonecall or email? What's stopping you?
Unfortunately, yes. I guess what keeps me from doing it is that I don't want to encourage long email exchanges. The gal writes three paragraph emails and that's just too much. I may sound rude, but I just don't have the time to get involved in lengthy email exchanges.
My other friend is always on the road blazing a trails on one of his eight Hogs (Harley). So he does a lot of SMSing to maintain contact and share his travels. The dude blows out my SMS with lengthy exchanges that end mid-sentence and continue on, for like three or more messages, to get the whole story. LOL For every six of his, I SMS once or twice.

I hate it when friends send me long winded chatty emails which go on for the size of a foolscap page. It's not a conversation, it's a one sided rant. I don' t mind 2-3 paragraphs though so long as they're not expecting a gushy reply if they're emailing me at work and so long as they don't expect a huge reply if it's at work.
Email is both a blessing and a curse - great for keeping in touch like a letter, bad because tone is so easy to mistinerpret. SMS's I see like a note. Anything longer than you'd put on a postit note and you should give up adn call them!
