What's your favorite holiday movie?
Hands down it is A Christmas Carol,
the tale of old Ebenezer Scrooge and his miserly ways. I must have six
versions of this film that I rotate and enjoy. It just speaks to the
very essence of this holiday and what means to give and share with
others, especially those less fortunate than us.
Mom finally got cable connected and working around 4:30 p.m., good thing too considering how quickly darkness was falling. We ended up waiting two hours beyond the "appointed" time. Time Warner Cable has agreed to credit us on the first bill for the inconvenience. I will say that the installer worked his tootsies off. He had to do a fresh install to the pole and he worked a full two hours on it!
We came upon a fantastic sale on computer speakers at Fry's so off we went last minute and now Boo has speakers for both notebooks. Thankfully, my main computer speakers started working correctly again after I reconnected everything and plug them into an entirely separate outlet.
Hungry and tired after a long day of waiting for the cable guy and following him to ensure he didn't "damage" anything, it must be a generational thing because my friends can totally relate as their mothers are the same, we were famished and stopped at Jack in the Box where we came upong this Charlie Brown tree.
As sad as it may look, I like it. The tree topper is great, isn't it?
Have you ever secretly unwrapped a gift before the big day?

Ah, that would be a definite! I became very adept at opening gifts without leaving tape scratch marks or peeled paper. You have to take your time and have a very steady hand as one peels back and the other holds down the paper. Oh yea, I was a very creative child. LOL
It’s finally here: I’m off until next Wednesday and I am so looking forward to the time off. No special plans. No big To Do Lists. Just the intent of enjoying time with my beloved Boo, cat Nobuku and Mom.
BTW, mom’s getting cable television installed on Saturday – just in time for Christmas, so I’m very jazzed about this and feeling quite happy. I only hope she’ll enjoy her Christmas gift year round and not let it sit unwatched. I made certain her package includes Animal Planet, Food Network, Home & Garden, A&E, E! and Discovery.
Wait…I forgot the most important channels QVC and Home
Shopping Network. Any trouble mom gets into while surfing the home shopping
shows is well – out of my hands! LOL
We may try and catch a few After Christmas sales for
decorations: LED net lights, Blue LED lights, decorations and the sort. But I’m
not rising early on Tuesday for it – that’s for certain. I’m
enjoying our time together and catching up on season two of Boston Legal and
holiday flicks.
Woo hoo, left for work this morning and it was a chilly 33 degrees - yea I know, for many this is balmy weather. However, I'm on the west coast - palm trees and all - get the picture? We are used to lows in the mid-fifties not hat and glove weather. Of course, I couldn't find my gloves to save my skin this morning. How's the weather in your neck of the woods? I have two more items to buy, yep - I thought I had only one more but find I need two. I think I'm a better shopper when I shop AFTER work. I am already dressed and out so it is easy to keep moving on. Whereas being home all comfy and cozy doesn't make me want to dress and leave. I hope you have a great day and find everything you are looking for.
One of my favorite things about the holidays is the decorations. So many people extend their time and money to decorate outdoors and share it with others. We don't buy a fresh or set up an artificial tree, instead we decorate outside. I love discovering new decorations, which seem to change annually, and finding new things to add to our set up or buy.
This yard was set up with a lot of love, fun and work. My photo doesn't do it justice but the joy it brought us well, that is genuine and we so appreciated the hard work and expense this family went through.
Who would you like to kiss under the mistletoe?

My beloved Boo, of course. Also, my little guy Nobuku who gives me unconditional love!
I forgot to mention that Friday's luncheon was a success. The
restaurant was very nice. The food delicious. The small talk and
socialization less awkward. Ogre still quite rigid. Nonetheless,
everyone had a great time and made every effort to make the celebration
a success. Only one person did not show after confirming and it left
him in a very poor light. I understand it's more difficult for others
to accept change and challenges. I just hope he hasn't dug himself too
deep a hole. He's a decent man really and a good friend. I'd hate to
lose him.
