What do you do for fun when you're broke?
Submitted by Kim.Get outdoors in nature and go on a hike. Explore a different trail and take in the vistas. Indoor activity would be viewing movies I own. How many movies do you own but have yet to watch?
...the desk extension was added so that I now have more counter space. My work is paper intensive (what happened to the paperless office?) and the one thing I never have enough off is room for all the paper I generate and receive.
Like any bureaucracy, my request was submitted at the beginning of December 2007 and completed today. Ah the marvels of efficiency and hierarchy! LOL
How do you want 2008 to be different from 2007? What will you change or do differently?

I want complete more things than I did in 2007. I want to get out and do things. I need to break free of what's comfy and take some risks.
How do you keep calm?

If I'm terribly upset about something or with someone I do breathing exercises and/or meditate. It helps me focus and regain balance.
It's been coming down since Friday and I've enjoyed it so much. It's forced us to slow down and simply enjoy being indoors. Of course, Nobuku's loved it since he didn't have to go to acupuncture Friday because we felt sorry for him! Yea I know, we're suckers. LOL
We've been catching up on DVR'd shows like Cane, Monster Quest, and Nip/Tuck. Watching movies friends have lent us Saw 3 and Halloween 2007 - both great horror flicks. Saw 3 spooked me out big time and kept my stomach in knots! I didn't even snack popcorn.
Of course, I puttered on the computer and listened to podcasts and we hung out. It's been nice and toasty in the house and I've totally enjoyed it. I don't want the weekend to end!
What won't you miss about 2007?

The permanent changes from lives lost and retired business arrangements. It's strange how my comfort zone was affected by my optometrist of 20 plus years retiring. I saw him annually for all those years and felt such profound loss.
Pina brought her Christmas gift from her husband to work for the gals to oogle. It's the Cricut (cricket) system which regularly rotates on infomercials and occupies shelf space on Wal*Mart - no small feat.
It is a very nice packaged and well thought out die cut system. I own the small version of the Sizzix and I prefer the Cricut system hands down. Pina's shipped with two cutting cartridges and the butterfly in the foreground is the largest size possible.
I am so happy that our lunchtime provides us ample time to do different things and experiment. After seeing what Cricut can do, I want one!
What was your reaction to the results of the Iowa caucuses?
The Republican winner shocked me as I never expected Huckabee to win.
The Democrats panned out as I expected. Clinton has estranged a lot of folks with her rhetoric and belly flopping!
What are your rituals or traditions for starting off a new year?
Remaining home on the eve, celebrating with family on the holiday and reading the Bible daily from the first of the year and throughout. If the saying "how you celebrate the New Year determines how you'll spend it" is true then mine should be a relatively calm and quiet one, which is just fine with me!
