It's a lazy day in our household as we do light housekeeping and finally break open an Uno Rummy Up game I bought on eBay about a month ago. It's been sitting on the dining table feeling neglected and forgotten. Have you ever played a game that's very similar to another game and worried that you'll confuse the two?
This is how we felt about Uno Rummy Up. It's very similar in game strategy to Rummikub with distinct variations. Like traditional Uno you have the hazard tiles: Skip, Reverse, Draw Two and Wild Draw Four, which you have to keep track off when strategyzing.
It became confusing for us within minutes of game play and we both agreed that the gals at work (they're still struggling to win at Rummikub) are not ready for something new and more complicated. If board games can be a metaphor for life, what would you deduce?
What board game are you really good at? Really bad at?
Definitely good at Rummikub and Boggle. I still stink at Sequence and because I can't draw Pictionary. Of course, sucking at something doesn't deter me from playing, much to the other players chagrin!
My Rummikub partner is on vacation for the next two weeks, so I'll have to find other games like Uno to play. Unless I intend to play Sequence for two weeks which I'm not excited about. While Sequence is fun it's not challenging enough and play can slow to a crawl as other players scope the board.
