We've had a new manager for six months or so and he's a definite jerk. He isn't liked nor respected by the department heads of ancillary units. The Ogre, as we've nicknamed him, is merely tolerated.

This morning a supervisor from another department phoned me to tell me the latest. Per Ogre, "No backpacks are allowed in the supervisor's department. Backpacks lead to theft and the person may be a lunatic."

A lunatic? Since when does someone who's a lunatic transport his "tools of the trade" solely via backpack?

A lunatic could easily conceal contraband in a briefcase, lunch bag or pockets.

I tell you, the Ogre loses more credibility daily. His mother should have taught him to think before speaking.

Oh yes, the employees he was concerned about....well, they've worked for our agency for over 15 years. But Ogre, well, he can spot the lunatics.

Today was definitely a Pointy Haired Boss Dilbert moment! LOL
