Boo had follow up eye surgery on Monday so we took two days off for recovery. The surgery was a success and Boo is recuperating nicely - thank God.
The surprise was seeing utility trucks parked in front of our house. They had huge empty wooden spindles waiting for something, what, we didn't know until Boo inquired.
They're pulling out the old copper cabling so fiber optic cable can be laid. YAHOOO! I have been hoping and waiting for this upgrade forever and hope we'll have the FIOS option in 2010. I'm realistic about these things taking time.
I am so envious of my comadre's FIOS access while I make do with lowly DSL. She recently moved into a new development in Corona, CA where AT&T (the local telco) is offering fiber optic service for $14.99 a month, this is equivalent to what I pay for DSL!
I am so envious of her.
She emailed to inquire about security and after sending her my crude drawing (I have no artistic ability) blithely
How is that she can get FIOS living out in the sticks and I can't living in an established suburb? Let me go off and sort myself out with a tall, cold glass of chocolate milk.
