Today was an absolutely fabulous day. We arose early, did some laundry, ran errands and spent the rest of the day just having fun outdoors. This is what we've needed after three weeks of semi-funky and at times rainy weather. Sunshine always lifts my spirit and revitalizes me.

I may be one of those people that needs sunlight to maintain balance. I can't think of what the condition is called but it's in the medical books, some folks become depressed or have their moods significantly altered when there's not enough sunshine.

Either way, I had a glorious day!

I'm bracing for another day of temps 95 degrees and above. Woodland Hills, Ca has set a new record for a heat wave: fifteen consecutive days of temps exceeding 100 degrees. Glad I don't live in WH!  ;-) 

For the first time we bought air conditioners for three rooms in our house and they've been life savers during the past three weeks. It's so nice to come home from work and have a cooled house instead of stifling heat.

I haven't seen the Al Gore film discussing the effects of Global Warming and the damage to our ecosystem, but I know plenty of folks who discount this theory. Maybe ten years from now we'll call the climatic change by another name, does is really matter?

The fact remains that globally weather patterns have changed. Temperatures are rising and no matter which name this phenomenom goes by, we are experiencing the effects. I for one do not want it to get any hotter than it's been. If I wanted consistently high temps I'd move to Arizona or Nevada!

It's been too hot to attend the noontime concerts at Pershing Square in downtown L.A. The concerts are free every Tuesday and Thursday from 12 noon - 2 p.m. They have some great bands and lots of local talent, too bad they don't have adequate shelter from the heat.
